Chinese New Year

Mar’s Musing on Chinese New Year

This week in Mar’s Musings I’m sharing about one of my traditions from young Chinese New Year – also known as the Lunar New Year.

Pondering on this celebration coming up on Sunday 22nd January I realised it ties together many threads that I’m working with – Abundance and the Lunar calendar connected to the women’s cyclical nature.

The start of the new year in China is linked to the beginning of spring time, and the week before people get their houses ready (cleaning out), get a hair cut and stock up on the essentials of mandarins, dumplings and other auspicious food to eat… all to welcome in Prosperity for the year ahead linked to one of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac this one being the water rabbit year.

For me as a child the strongest memory is receiving red packets called “hong pao” with money for good luck. These are given by elders to younger children as good luck for the new year ahead!

Tied with many women reaching out this January around their financial landscape, this got me thinking about how we organise our finances and sharing a little more over the next 2 weeks about aligning our inner & outer financial wellbeing

The importance of the spiritual and material being aligned in a healthy and cyclical way!

So I’d love to hear from you, how does your inner and outer financial landscape look like?

What would you like to get clear on for the year ahead around money?

Abundant Lunar New Year wishes to you all

Love Mar Michelle
