Festive Season
Mar's Musings Festive Season
Welcome to this week's Mar's Musings. As we immerse ourselves in the festive season, surrounded by the warmth of family, friends, or perhaps finding solace in the quiet moments alone, I want to share a gentle reminder. In this season of giving, of celebrations, it's crucial to also give to yourself.
Often, in the midst of all the outward giving, we forget the importance of replenishing our own spirits. Whether you're engaged in volunteering at soup kitchens, spending time with loved ones, or taking a retreat by yourself, consider what you need during this time. Reflect on how you can give to yourself and keep yourself replenished.
The holiday season carries a beautiful spirit of connecting with others, reminiscing about past years, and setting intentions for the year to come. Amidst the festivities, I encourage you to bring consciousness to your consumption and align it with your values, fostering a sense of connection not only with others but with the world around you.
Next week, as we approach the "Rauhnächte” starting 24th night, the literal translation rough nights, in Germanic tradition, leading up to Epiphany on January 6th, a time when the veil between worlds is thin, I'll delve deeper into how you can replenish and tune in next week.
As we enter the solstice, the time of the longest night and the shortest day, it's a moment for deep reflection. In Chinese medicine, this period is associated with the inward, the yin, a time for exploration and diving into the darkness within ourselves. The Christmas tree, with its vibrant green, symbolises life in the midst of winter's dormancy. It's a reminder to explore the depth within and bring that inner richness into the outer world.
During this festive week, irrespective of the tradition you follow, amidst family gatherings and joyous moments, remember to gift yourself time, self-care, and moments of reflection. This self-nourishment is not only a gift to you but a necessary step to nourish those around you.
As the solstice marks the darkest day of the year, I hope you find insights and reflections that allow you the moment to close the last year.
✨️ What are you grateful for over the past year and why?
✨️ What do you need to let go of to continue to progress on the fulfilment of your path or life aspirations and why?
✨️ Are there opportunities you foresee as a result of letting them go and creating more space?
Thank you for being part of this cycle, for your feedback, and for sharing your journey.
Wishing you a beautiful and reflective festive season.
Enjoy the darkest day, and may it bring you insights and warmth. Until next week, take care, and sending you a big, heartfelt kiss and lovely Christmas celebrations to those who celebrate 🎄💫
Warmly,
Mar
