Small daily rituals can change your life

Mar's Musing on Small daily rituals can change your life

This holiday I've been reflecting on the impact of daily habits, practices and rituals on our lives.

It’s become clear to me that it’s not the occasional grand gestures but the consistency of small daily rituals that truly makes a difference. Whether it’s a short meditation every day instead of once a week, or engaging in sports daily rather than just a couple of times a week, these small but regular actions are key.

Consistency is Key

As I continue to integrate this understanding into my life, I’ve realized that it’s not about those rare, impactful moments, but rather about maintaining a steady rhythm and having a clear sense of what comes next. This consistency helps in planning, evolving, and staying committed to your goals.

Even while on holiday, my focus remains on keeping up with my daily practices—drinking tea, meditating, and staying active. These routines have become an integral part of my life over the past year. If you’ve been following my journey, you’ve likely noticed this shift.

Is the 5am Club for you?

I used to chuckle at the notion of the “5:00 a.m. club”—waking up early to meditate, exercise, do morning pages, and read before the day truly begins. It seemed almost impossible (!) However, the more I reflect on it and observe successful individuals who swear by their daily routines, the more I appreciate the importance of consistency.

Personalise your Routine

It’s crucial to find the right rituals and practices that anchor you to the highest version of yourself. These practices can pull you out of a victim mentality and propel you into a mindset of growth and expansion.

Of course, everyone’s path is different. I once had a spiritual teacher who asked, "What is your phone out of the matrix?" Each of us has a unique way to break free from the everyday grind and connect with something deeper. I recently met an actor who, despite not engaging in spiritual practices, found his focus and drive through wrestling, boxing, and sports.

So, I encourage you to find your own commitment—whatever that may be—that aligns with your daily life and helps you become the best version of yourself. Explore different practices and see what resonates with you.

I hope this message inspires you to experiment and discover what rituals might elevate your life. Let’s keep this dialogue open—I’d love to hear about your experiences and how you’re evolving.

Wishing you a summer full of growth and discovery!

Warmly,

Mar
