The Importance of Structure
Mar’s Musing on Structure
This week in Mar’s Musings I am diving into the importance I have discovered of having structure in our lives.
Many women asked in the feedback form about how I manage my time such as our family life, work and motherhood plus my other activities – for me the main thing that comes with it is a clear structure (& asking for support, which I will cover another time)!!
I used to hate structure from my school years, having to abide by outside set times and so I rebelled and spent many years travelling without a plan. Some weeks I didn’t know what day of the week it was and used to book my flights the day before, following sporadic plans.
One lady I met travelling told me that real freedom lies within the structure and it took me many years to understand this.
I realised that without structure it is hard to build projects, as we are constantly dealing with the small things in life, when do I fly, what do I book, where will I stay next week, where do I get groceries or go to eat…
So, today I would say that I am thriving with the structure.
Structure for my work week
Clear days for the circles
Meal and food order plans
Son’s school and activities arranged…
And you know what, I’m almost laughing at myself as I was running so far away from all this and today I am celebrating my enjoyment of resting on these structures.
Does this resonate? If so, why not try it out…
I’d love to hear from you, do you have any inspiring structures that I could learn from?
Have a lovely rest of the week!
Love Mar Michelle
