Wim Hof on Diary of a CEO Turning Fear into Power
Mar's Musings on Wim Hof on Diary of a CEO Turning Fear into Power
Thank you all for engaging and providing me with feedback. It's incredibly valuable as I carve out new courses and offerings for the Women's Group Coaching.
This week, I want to dive into a podcast episode that deeply moved me—it's from Steven Bartlett's "Diary of a CEO," where he interviews Wim Hof, famously known as the Iceman.
Listening to Wim Hof's story was truly inspiring. He shared about overcoming immense challenges, including the tragic loss of his wife to suicide while raising four children. Wim Hof found solace and strength in the cold—ice baths and cold water became his comfort zone, teaching him to live at the edge of life, constantly pushing beyond comfort. This resonated deeply with me, especially considering my own journey with ice baths starting about a year ago. Initially skeptical, it kickstarted something new in my life, reconnecting me with my passions and sports.
The podcast underscored the contrast between the complacency of life within our comfort zones versus the vitality and excitement of pushing our boundaries. It's not about overextending ourselves or being perpetual overachievers but about embracing life with health, happiness, energy, and vitality. This mindset has reignited a sense of life force within me, reminding me of the importance of taking aligned action and believing in oneself.
Growing up in Singapore, where the climate is consistently warm, I've always had a fear of the cold. I've carried jumpers and layers everywhere, much to the amusement of my partner. However, Wim Hof's teachings and the podcast have encouraged me to trust life and my body more deeply. They've shown me that we possess an incredible life force within us that can be tapped into to design and create the life we truly desire.
Many women I work with express uncertainty about their goals and what they truly want in life. My mission is to help peel back these layers of uncertainty, enabling them to reconnect with their true selves and identify the life they want to live. It's about moving beyond the constraints of a traditional nine-to-five job and instead, designing a life filled with purpose and meaning.
I've included the link to the podcast below for those interested in listening—it sparked something new within me this week, and I hope it resonates with you as well. Sometimes, a single moment of inspiration can ignite profound changes, and I believe this podcast has the potential to do just that.
Remember, you have the power to create the life you want to live.
Despite life's challenges and traumas, there is always a path forward—a rainbow at the end of the tunnel. Let's embrace this journey together and continue sharing our inspirations and insights.
Please feel free to reply with any feedback or thoughts. I love hearing from you and look forward to continuing this journey together.
With gratitude,
Mar
