International Woman's Day
Mar’s Musing on Women’s Day
Happy International Women’s day to you dearest!
In preparation for tomorrow, I am celebrating you in your fullness of who you are as a woman
My calling is to work with women, and this was amplified through the birth of my son.
I realised in that moment that we are not equal, I was a big advocate of feminism, equality and don’t get me wrong I still believe in the empowerment of women in all forms - however through the birth I realised that we are not equal.
Women are the bringers of life, we are the ones giving birth and so have a certain role - after giving birth I found myself in a space of total vulnerability and I couldn’t stand up to get myself a glass of water.
I’d gotten a sign-off from the doctor to go to the World Economic Forum at 7.5months pregnant... I was in a total go getter mode (and I still am) just from another space.
Since I pivoted my work, I’ve been coaching women from all different walks of life, backgrounds and at different stages of their journey… However, what touched me the most was a lady with 3 children who had given up her high flying career to move and support her husband, who then became the father of her 3 children.
She stopped working for years, being supported by him and today as she is in a separation - she has child support money from her ex but when the kids leave home she won’t have any more financial support.
She gave up her career for the family, this is not so uncommon, especially in the past, however the institutions supported women in these positions.
Today this is not the case, roles and responsibilities are shifting yet some patterns have not yet, especially in the case of women and their roles in the family.
Or on the other side of the spectrum, it breaks my heart to think that after having children you as a woman need to leave them to do a 9 to 5 job just for the money, missing them and wishing to be with the children or doing your “soul-work”.
The more women I work with the more determined I become to help empower women to align money and their purpose. To support women to do their “soul-work” in the world and raise their children and families, to embrace all facets of being a woman.
For this and with the intention to offer a more accessible offer this year, I will be opening the doors tomorrow to the coaching community for women “soul-preneurs” launching their “soul-work” to come together, support each other and elevate together!
We meet 10 x a month with group coaching, get stuff done sessions, women’s circle and my favourite, a space for a woman to share her gifts monthly!!
Does this sound like something that could be supportive for you?
Reply, “I’m interested” so we can chat more about it…
I’ll probably be sharing this on an IG Live too tomorrow on International Women’s day, as I am buzzing with excitement to Elle-vate more women.
Love love love,
Mar Michelle
